[Gift] My Little World
The last morning dew fell as the star in the sky approached its apex. Ryokō with burning warm feathers and paint stroke stripes danced through the grass while Ambrosia followed behind. Her water gave way for a stream of rejuvenation to the plants in their path, color sprouted slowly in their steps.
“Ambi, when will you show me your art? We’ve been together for 60 star cycles, and you never bring it up.”
Ambrosia looked to her left then to her right, red blush filled her cheeks. “…I-I don’t know which one to show you yet! I…I want to impress you, each one is a long project…”
Ryokō looked Ambrosia with a curious gleam as if he knew what to suggest, “Well, why don’t you show me your absolute favorite?”
The shy Starlyng led the artist from the grand Moon Glades into the fluctuating terrain of little rainbow flowers of all varieties. Each step bloomed more flora into Ryokō’s sights, Ambrosia must be revealing something grand. The mesmerizing deep azure streams followed them, and it glistened like crystals that fell from the sky. From where the sunlight hit the surface, faint rainbow light reflected, clinging and decorating the pair.
Ambrosia stopped in her tracks onto a hill surrounded by still waters; this island was quiet and gentle, you could sleep here for eons. Ryokō walked behind Ambrosia as she rhythmically tapped her feet to the ground, treating it with respect. He copied the same movements, and they were in sync circulating the center.
”This is my art…my little land of life.” Ambrosia whispered her secret.
Ryokō smiled and started to wag his tail and draw circles. He gave a big positive bellow, “I am enamored! What do you title this mystical creation of yours?”
Soft-spoken Ambrosia held out her hand and told Ryokō: "My little world...” Ambrosia looked down in attempt to hide her excited smile to her new friend, but Ryokō met her with another smile back.
”May I take a few flowers with me in my travels?“ Ryokō stepped back and showed his sketchbook. “There is a way to immobilize them forever with just this. Would you like to see?”
Ambrosia nodded, “Ah...you could do that Ryokō? I would love to learn…! I think you should take some to create pigments for your paints, they are wonderful hues I would love to see you use. Like my favorite little white ones."
”Thank you Ambi! Now wait...watch this.” Ryokō plucked a grand white flower speckled with blue, placed it onto his book and started to show Ambrosia how to dry press them. "Now your art can exist forever with me, when it's here pressed for a few weeks—that is. Now pluck one and give it to me, I'll return it to you when I come back from the white star above."
I have to return to university land... but I think of them
