Moda Fubs are a curious species of ‘4 tall ~’10 inch long grub-like creatures that live up to 2 weeks of Ramus time, and are the first phase of the Moda Appens life cycle. Fubs are common to the planet of Lucens Ramus; habitats vary from forests to tropical regions, hatching on leaves, their diet consists of leaves and fruit. Gender distinction can be made through horn observation, males typically have smaller horns than females.
Moda Fubs have rituals of "fashioning" themselves with leaves they attach to their bodies with their saliva; this has an additional effect of camouflage and protection from the rain. In turn, Moda Fubs with the most aesethically impressive leaf attire attract the most kin, exchanging salivas. Exchange of salivas are contributed towards attire repair, and overall health.
If a Moda Fub reaches maturity with enough saliva exchange and leaf collection they create a flora chrysalis, with a transformation period that lasts an additional 2 weeks to turn into their final phase, a Moda Appen. Around 1 in every 4 Fubs successfully reach maturity.
Their abandoned attire shells are dubbed Moda leaves, unique in the way their spit crystalizes over time that tastes and is used as a unique sugar. These crystalized leaves are a common delicacy, as it creates a concoction of tea that tastes similar to fruit juice. Different types of Moda leaves exist, and variations are highly dependent on the location and diet the Moda developed with.
