Glass Forest

A forest of crystalline, gemstone, petrified, and glass trees and other flora located on Tartarus. Blindingly beautiful; better viewed when the light is low. When wind rolls through the forest, it sounds like wine glass resonance and wind chimes. Much of the forest as a diaphonous, aquatic feel to it; many (but not all) trees resemble coral, rocks look like seashells, etc. It is possible that much of Tartarus was underwater at some point, although it is unknown how such flora persists despite the planet's current conditions.

This forest grows beyond the domed population of Tartarus, and so most inhabitants are unaware of its existence outside of myth, aged accounts, or (glitched) glimpses through the faux dome "skies".
