Ephemeris

Landmark inside Sanctum

The headquarters of the Archivists' Association, situated above the Sanctum.

A distance separates the apex of the Sanctum and the foundation of the Ephemeris, with a hoverway connecting them both. The foot of the Ephemeris is a huge, triquectra or trefoil knot, with its main body designed after a Reuleaux triangle. Numerous slim and similarly-shaped windows line its sides. The circular interior of the Ephemeris possesses an horologium floor. At its center is a rising and lowering column that carries Archivists up to the higher levels. When fully risen, the column resembles Dondi's Astrarium. The majority of the Ephemeris is occupied by books (including live Liberkin or otherwise) and Tomes, and is more select about its visitations than the Sanctum.

An opening at the top of the Ephemeris gives way to the Celestial Spear (alternatively called the Stargazer), the Association's primary and most advanced space telescope. The telescope itself is entwined with an armillary sphere.

Though the Association has a home base (and makes full use of the Sanctum below it), its position as a Guild means that it also possesses a number of branch bases throughout the Universe called Scriptoria (or Ephemerides). Scriptoria can vary in grandiosity, although most contain at least a space telescope and perusable library.
