Firmament

Planet inside Starlyng Universe

The Firmament is a roaming artificial planet home to the bases of all Universal Covenants. The outer surface of the Firmament is halved between the Sanctuary (Ephemeris), and the Bastion, while the hollowed center and core is occupied by the Necropolis. The Firmament is surrounded by a series of artificial rings called the Primum Mobile, and beyond that, several "orbiting bodies".

Excluding the Rebis, all of the Firmament's "orbiting bodies" (satellite station-spaceships) are officially named after alchemical (in the Starlyng Universe, "Allchemical") metals, elements, etc. Several of these stations are either occupied or routinely visited by Guilds and Troupes. The Rebis and the Interstellar Space Station (ISS) are the only crafts that remain in the Firmament's orbit (although two-thirds of the Rebis does routinely split off and leave, its central vessel never departs), hence their classification as "artificial moons". Both the Rebis and the ISS travel fixed tracks along the Primum Mobile.
