Annals of Time
Landmark inside Sanctuary
The personal library of the Firstborns, containing archives dating back to time immemorial. The Annals of Time are alternatively known as the Somnia Subrosa ("dream under the rose") or Somnium, due to its high concentration of fantastical-seeming, Firstborn memories and hazy, Stardust-dense atmosphere, lending it a dreamlike quality.
The Annals are not accessible to the public, though portions of it are routinely opened to a select population upon invitation (i.e. Erudites, other trusted, scholarly enthusiasts and certain top-ranked Faction members). Of those who visited, most would answer that the Annals lie at the heart of the Sanctuary or near where the Seven hold symposium. The truth, however, is that it resides "neither here nor there", and in a protected subspace no live Firstborn could ever reconstruct, having been created by St. Loki. (Before, it really was just in a regular room within the Sanctuary.)
Much of what "lines the shelves" of the Somnium are not Tomes, but earlier and lost forms of memory preservation. Firstborn paraphernalia is also displayed in nearly every corner, earning the athenaeum yet another nickname: the Firstborn Museum.
Though shapeshifting and technically without a set layout, the subspace will rearrange itself to make sense when needed. It will guide those with a clear goal in mind directly to their destination. It will retaliate against naughty or overcurious Starlyngs by becoming labyrinthine. In other words, the Annals of Time are "aware" of personal will. Unfortunately, it also seems to possess a sense of humor reminiscent of its creator, and will sometimes vex its navigators on a whim.
