Vestri
City inside Everlight
Vestri (West City) is the easternmost city of Dwarven society on Hyperborea and one of five major Dwarven cities. It is the westernmost Dwarven city located within the Everlight. The other three cardinal cities, Austri (East City), Norðri (North City) and Suðri (South City), are an equidistance away from the central Dwarven capital, Hjálm (Helm), in their respective directions. (All five cities are named after an Old Norse kenning for the sky.)
Vestri is the least advanced of the five cities, and where Helm screams "cyberpunk with a dash of Dwarf," the West City screams "pastoral countryside". The West City area is the best Hyperborea can offer in terms of agriculture; most (if not all) farming, etc. is done in and around Vestri. Owing to their sumptious and varied foods, the West City is also known for its culinary prowess and unending string of eateries. Further still, Vestri boasts a booming fruit-based alcohol industry. The city itself is woven around a tree of unparalleled beauty called Glasir; the grove surrounding Vestri is called Glasislundr.
A golden landscape, rustic, picturesque scenery, and pleasant weather has earned Vestri the nicknames Asgard and City of Idylls. It is additionally referred to as the Canopy City, in reference to Vestri's buildings lining Glasir from top to bottom. Vestri is a popular vacation spot for Dwarves from other cities.
