Moon inside Firmament
The Interstellar Space Station (ISS), officially named Quicksilver by the Firmament, is the "central hub" for the Interstellar Wanderers and the Universe's premier distributor of physical and nonphysical news. Unlike many of the Firmament's other "orbiting bodies", the Quicksilver does not leave the "planet's" orbit, hence its classification as an "artificial moon". However, back when it was the only vessel besides the Rebis trio and went by the name Uncharted, the ISS was most mobile spaceship-station. (Veteran Wanderers often still refer to the ISS as the Uncharted.)
The ISS has been remodeled more than a few times throughout the millennia, and its history of change can still be seen throughout the vessel. It is torus-shaped with many entryways, exits, and an expansive Astroport both above the main level and along its outer perimeter to accomodate its ceaseless bustle. A magnificent spire rises above it, and at its apex is arguably the best satellite communications station across the cosmos.
The transmissions portion of the ISS is named after the inventor of ultrawave technology, Ansible, who now serves as the station's mainstay Universal Broadcaster. The remaining bulk of the Space Station's journalistic force hails from the Archivists' Association (Scribes).
While the Quicksilver is well-lit overall, its tower hosts the grandest of its beacons, doubling as a "lighthouse" of sorts.
