Styx
Styx (from the river Styx; scientific name Mavro Nero) are EUB that resemble luminous aquatic life or "artificial" maritime constructs (ships, anchors, etc.). They are typically (but not always) malignant creatures that have deliberately passed through the Sourcering from neighboring universes into Universe A+. It is unknown what their motives are and where it is they truly hail from, since they appear to act as invaders in many universes. Ouroboros naturally repels foreign entrants like Styx, and so they are only able to pass through weakened areas (Sourcegates).
Contact with Styx invariably causes Distortions, the severity is which is determined by the type of Styx and duration of exposure. As they are rejected by the Universe and cause it and its inhabitants undue harm, the Order is strict about evicting (or, if eviction is impossible, destroying) Styx. Keeping them as pets is not given a blind eye like Bits, but that doesn't mean Starlyngs don't still do it and endure/acclimate to their Distortions. Pet Styx are usually hidden away.
