Welcome to Share Some Starlyngs September! We have some very good news! And some not-so-great news. Let's start with the latter. 

Our epic Administrator team has gotten caught up in the complexities of life--that is to say, from medical, to interpersonal, to academic issues: we've been despairingly busy! Our deepest apologies to our very patient Userlyngs for our failure to get out the second August Announcement, and for our lateness on this September Announcement. Everything is evening out where it matters, so we'll be back on track as soon as possible!

The good news would be: the rest of the newsletter! Let's dive into our anniversary month!

Hip hip hooray! Yippee, yay, and so on! It's been one year of Starlyngs!!! Thank you for accompanying us on our starry ride through the cosmos, and we hope you continue to join us for the journey ahead! As celebration for this momentous occasion, Starlyngs is holding a special Anniversary Event!

All Userlyngs, whether old or new, are eligible to participate in this event to receive x1 Rare MYO and unlimited Earthbound Souls for one month only (until October 10th, 2024). FOLLOWING THESE STEPS IS MANDATORY to receive your rewards, so read closely. 

Users who have already submitted their Monthly MYO for the month of September will need to wait until October to submit their design.

FOR THE RARE MYO:

1.) Make sure you're registered on Starlyng.space, our Lorekeeper.

2.) Create a bulletin on Toyhou.se that includes BOTH the Toyhou.se forum link AND your Lorekeeper username.

3.) Claim your free Monthly MYO. Staff will automatically treat it as a Rare MYO.

4.) Submit your Monthly MYO WITH your Toyhou.se bulletin linked in the MYO submission comments.

FOR EARTHBOUND SOULS: 

1.) Submit a redesign request WITH your Toyhou.se bulletin linked in the comments. You may do this as many times as you like within until October 10th, 2024.

STARNIVAL 2024 WINNERS & RAFFLYNG

While rewards for the 2024 Starnival Event were given out to participants earlier last month, we would like to officially announce this year’s winner: Team Stardust! With a total of 3573 Renown, Team Stardust surpassed Team Seafoam’s 2031 Renown, for a collective score of 5604!

After we determined the victor, our Stafflyng luparoca went straight to work creating the stellar Team Stardust-themed Rafflyng pictured below! All participants were automatically entered into the raffle, with MangoPotat being our lucky winner. Congratulations!

With our adjusted reward criteria, all participants were granted Account-Bound versions of x1 Minion Pinion, x1 Tick-Tock, x1 Uncommon MYO, x3 Rare Traits, x3 Earthbound Souls, x1 Lilitoile Bouquetx, x1 Raindrop Cake Set, and x1 Heart-Shaped Box of Chocolates. Be sure to give a round of applause to our top-scoring member Inotcreative, who finished the event with a whopping 2028 Renown!

A huge thank you to all of our participants! We hope to implement improvements to the event format we came up with next year!

NEW SEASON: AUTUMN/SPRING

It is now meteorologically autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, and spring in the Southern Hemisphere! As such, autumn and spring-themed submissions will now be accepted for our permanent Seasonal Prompt (Gallery link). How are your Starlyngs enjoying the new season?

LUCK OF THE DRAW: October STARDUST ADOPTABLES LOTTERY

This month, we have (well, had--they're already sold out!) three spiced Stardust adoptable designs for prospective Userlyngs to purchase! They cost 500 Stardust each.

This eye-catching trio, themed after the "Autumn Harvest", was created by peeperonipip, reybrella, and subsequentibis! They can be purchased through their Sales page.

— ADOPT A "Autumn Harvest" DESIGN —

Continuing the trend, we're also hosting our October Stardust Adoptable lottery! We have also added a new stipulation that while anyone who has not been disqualified may enter these raffles, artists that get repeatedly rolled for this position will be rerolled.

  • THREE users be chosen as winners.

  • The users who created the previous month's adoptables cannot be chosen again this month. If they are selected, they will be rerolled.

  • Artists that are repeatedly rolled for this position may also be rerolled.

  • Winners will be asked to EACH create ONE Festival-themed Starlyng. (Festivals, carnivals, and celebrations!)

  • These adoptables can use any Common, Uncommon, and Rare Traits. The Star [L] Trait is also available for use.

  • Staff MYOs are provided to create these designs; selected artists do not need to spend their own Items.

  • These adoptables will be sold for 500 Stardust each. 

The deadline for these designs will be at the end of the month, with designers being picked on Sept 14th. Failure to complete a design will disqualify users from participating in the future.

So uh do i comment my myo here + the bulletin or is it on the myo when im getting the design approved?

Question! I don't quite understand what the earthbound soul obtainment works? Is a design needed in order to receive the item? Do we just submit the redesign a myo form all we want with the comment even if we don't have a myo for the redesign form?

Earthbound Souls can only be used on preexisting designs/Starlyngs. Ergo, so long as you have a preexisting Starlyng, you may freely apply the Earthbound Soul Transformation during the next month so long as you follow the related directions above. There is no distribution of the Item; users are to note their intentions (by linking to their Toyhou.se bulletin) in the comments of their redesign request.

hi! two questions:

- for the anniversary rare myo, is the myo approval deadline also october 10th? meaning, if a user has already used up their september myo and subsequently has to use their october one instead, they will have 10 days to design and get that approved?

- just to clarify for resource prompt applications: if a user applied but was never contacted, does that mean their form was retained and only users who heard back from staff had their forms cleared? or should users who were never contacted back about their applications be resubmitting as well?

  1. Yes. If a user has already used their September Monthly MYO, then they will need to use their October Monthly MYO. This gives users an entire month from today to design their Starlyng, not ten days; it will just need to be submitted next month. Also, we generally tackle all approvals within a day of them being submitted, so as long as a design was submitted prior to the deadline and is not outright rejected, we will accept it.

  2. That sentence was erroneously left in from last month's newsletter and has been corrected! All forms have been retained and were not cleared. No need to resubmit anything!

i see...the 10 days is mostly due to the fact that, depending on what route a user decides to take, and given that rare slots are not necessarily the easiest thing to come by for some so it offers a special opportunity, they may want to commission someone for a custom - in which case there are some custom artists who will only work on a custom for you once you actually own the relevant myo slot within your possession.

in any case, then i also wanted to ask: several species/arpgs offer official wip checks through staff that handle design approvals, in which the relevant staff will communicate officially if and everything that needs to be changed before the design continues to be worked on and eventually submitted for final approval. does starlyngs offer this at all, or does starlyngs only operate on official checks given when a final & finished myo is submitted? i am aware that #design-help in the discord exists, but from what i understand that is a community channel for design development rather than an avenue to receive official decisive input from a staff member on anything/everything that needs to be amended.
